If you’re a final year RN, RM and EN student, this essential event will help you successfully transition from student to working nurse or midwife.

You’ll leave feeling more confident about your applications and what to expect during your grad year.

Date: Friday 16 May, 9am-4pm

Format: Face-to-face event – come along and find your community!

Location: Carson Conference Centre, 535 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne

Attend this event for insightful and informative presentations, interactive workshop sessions, door prizes and the chance to get all of your questions answered. Catch up with classmates and others over a catered lunch!

  • Acing your interviews, including mock interviews
  • Your pay and entitlements – what can you expect in your first year and beyond?
  • Grad year experiences – what does that first year look like, and what do grads wish they knew ahead of their grad year?

Interested in HESTA/ANMF placement grants?

Are you a final year nursing or midwifery student? Do you have an upcoming clinical placement far away from home? Are you an ANMF member?

ANMF appreciates the sacrifices our student members make when undertaking their clinical placements. Whether this means leaving behind family, your job or your home, this time can be a challenge. ANMF has partnered with HESTA to provide 250 placement grants, worth $450 each, to eligible ANMF members in their final year of nursing or midwifery (bachelor or diploma) studies.

Placement grants will be awarded by ballot. To apply please complete an application form here.

ANMF (Vic Branch) refund and cancellation policy

By registering for this conference, you are accepting the ANMF (Vic Branch) refund policy:

  • 10 per cent administrative fee levied on all participants who cancel
  • 14 days or more notification = full refund (90 per cent)
  • Seven days or more notification = 70 per cent refund
  • Less than seven days notification = 25 per cent refund

How do I get to the venue?

Public transport use is encouraged to attend this event.

Melbourne Central and Flagstaff railway stations are a short walk or tram ride to 535 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne VIC 3000. Tram Routes 19, 57 and 59 travels along Elizabeth Street and the trams all stop outside Queen Victoria Market.

Limited parking exists near the venue. Two hour paid street parking located on Elizabeth Street and at the rear of the venue on O’Connell Street.

Additional secure paid all-day parking located can be at the Queen Victoria Market. This car park is open seven days a week, between 5am – 7pm, and is accessible via Franklin or Queen Streets. Rates for parking can be found here. Please note this event takes place on a market day.

Is this event catered for?

Yes, this event is catered, with morning tea and lunch provided. Please ensure you confirm any dietary restrictions and requirements on your registration form.
