Are you ready for your grad year?

If you’re a final year RN, RM and EN student, this two-part event will help you successfully transition to working nurse or midwife.

You’ll leave feeling more confident about your applications and what to expect during your grad year.

Part 1: online 

Thursday 9 May, 2pm-4pm

2-3pm: Presentation and Q&A on PMCV Match with Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria. (optional for EN’s)

3-4pm: Presentation and Q&A on the application process with Cecilia Ly, Graduate Nurse Coordinator, Austin Health.

Part 2: in-person

Wednesday 5 June, 9am – 4pm
 Carson Conference Centre, 535 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne

Come along for door prizes, special guests - Two Humerus Nurses (podcast) and workshops for an interactive experience. Catch up with classmates over a catered lunch.

Presentations will cover:

  • Acing your interviews, including mock interviews
  • Your pay and entitlements 
  • Grad year experiences – what does that first year look like, and what do others wish they knew?
  • Your career pathways beyond your grad year

Plus, an opportunity to meet graduate program coordinators from metro and regional hospitals offering EN and RN/RM graduate programs. 


Your ticket covers both sessions, including access to the online session (part 1) recording.

By registering for this conference, you are accepting the ANMF (Vic Branch) refund policy:

  • 10 per cent administrative fee levied on all participants who cancel
  • 14 days or more notification = full refund (90 per cent)
  • Seven days or more notification = 70 per cent refund
  • Less than seven days notification = 25 per cent refund

Frequently asked questions 

How do I get to the venue? Public transport use is encouraged to attend this event. Melbourne Central and Flagstaff railway stations are a short walk or tram ride to 535 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne VIC 3000. Tram Routes 19, 57 and 59 travels along Elizabeth Street and the trams all stop outside Queen Victoria Market.

Limited parking exists near the venue. Two hour paid street parking located on Elizabeth Street and at the rear of the venue on O’Connell Street.

Additional secure paid all-day parking located can be at the Queen Victoria Market. This car park is open seven days a week, between 5am - 7pm, and is accessible via Franklin or Queen Streets. Rates for parking can be found here. Please note this event does not take place on a market day.
