What would the professions of nursing and midwifery be without kindness and compassion?

These qualities are an essential part of our practise and when shared, positively influence our consumer’s experience within the health system. In addition, demonstrating kindness and compassion toward ourselves is proved to be of great benefit to our own health and wellbeing.

The 2019 Wellness Conference will place kindness and compassion squarely on the agenda. Our presenters will share a perspective on their unique lived experiences and open you up to new and innovative ways of thinking about kindness and compassion.

They will present ideas in practical ways which when used can promote positive health and wellbeing for you, your families and those in your professional life.

The conference will be opened by Dr Richard Harris, anaesthetist and expert cave diver responsible for the rescue of 12 boys and their soccer coach from a cave in Thailand. He’s joined by Matt Ball, 2017 Mental Health Nurse of the Year, who will share his experience of living with mental illness.

Sarah Wilson will discuss her journey of living with anxiety and the Evolve Yourself Institute will provide helpful and practical ways of living a kinder, compassionate and healthier life.

All of our speakers have been hand-picked for you, to help you generate ideas and stimulate action.

The program has been designed to leave you with many practical and useful techniques and strategies which can be introduced to your workplace, home and local community.

The Wellness Conference 2019 will include interactive sessions such as yoga and will leave you with a practical toolkit of strategies to use in promoting your physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual health.
