Location:  Victorian Branch, 535 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne

Are you a passionate Job Rep or member who is willing to learn and take on the dynamic role of Industrial Relations Organiser?

An ANMF (Vic Branch) Organiser provides individual and/or collective industrial, professional and occupational health and safety assistance to members.

Working as part of a team, you would participate and promote campaigns and activities designed to improve the services and conditions of ANMF members in the regions workplaces. An orientation program of up to four weeks will be provided.

We are seeking expressions of interest from our members and/or Job Reps who may completed Job Rep training or are active in supporting our campaigns.

Salary: Industrial Organiser Year 1, $92,675 full-time per annum (plus 14.5% superannuation)

 

The role:

  • You will work closely with members to understand their needs and take responsibility for providing appropriate advice and action in relation to industrial and professional matters, supported and mentored by experienced ANMF staff.
  • Within a designated geographical area you will be responsible existing members within workplaces and recruiting new members.
  • You will be involved in Branch activities including a diverse range of campaigns designed to improve employment conditions and the health industry.
  • You will recruit, develop and support Job Reps and OHS reps to unite them on matters and promote union strength, values and membership.

 

About you:

To be successful in this role you will

  • Have excellent communication skills, and, after training, the ability to negotiate with employers on issues and bring people along with you. 
  • Work closely with members to understand their needs and take responsibility for providing appropriate advice and action.
  • Identify potential for collective action on issues and support campaigns.
  • Recruit, develop and support Job Reps and OHS reps to unite them on matters and promote union strength, values and membership.
  • Utilise systems and process for effective work organisation and time management.
  • Be a persistent problem solver, resilient and resourceful when approaching new or complex tasks.

 

Essential criteria

  • Registered/Enrolled Nurse or Midwife
  • Demonstrates a sound understanding of relevant Agreements
  • Has a sound knowledge of ANMF (Vic Branch) policies and practices pertaining to membership
  • Victorian Drivers Licence.
